Construction

The Construction Department of Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc., (AECI), has served Arkansas’ electric cooperatives, as well as other electric utilities, since 1966.
The department builds electric distribution and transmission lines and substations for its customers. The department’s crews also move power lines and poles when roads are widened.

In emergency situations following storms, the department provides crews and equipment to assist with clean-up efforts and repairs.

Right-of-Way

The Right-of-Way Department of Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc., (AECI), has served the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas and a number of other utilities since its inception in 1959.

AECI uses SkyTrim 75 vehicles to clear rights-of-way in hard-to-reach areas. The department’s crews use a variety of equipment, including ten new high-tech SkyTrim vehicles, to clear and maintain rights-of-way along power lines for cooperatives in Arkansas and surrounding states. In emergency situations, such as ice and snow storms, tornadoes, and floods, the department provides crews and equipment to assist with clean-up efforts.

High Voltage Test Lab

The High Voltage Test Lab at Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc., (AECI), is the right choice for testing your safety equipment. AECI’s system of close inspection by professional, experienced personnel, combined with state-of-the-art automated testing machinery, assures quality testing and a quick turnaround that will get your crews back out in the field and working safely once again.
Equipment is first tested visually by lab technicians and later by test equipment. Once items pass inspection, they are cleaned before they are returned to customers, another step that is vital to the safety of the equipment’s owners.

“I look at the equipment as if I were going to be using it,” says Dennis Yarberry, a veteran lab technician.
